Remember, Remember

The Victor of the 100th Hunger Games
Ajax Rogue

District Two
Kill Count: 3

Second Place: Dagan Grove
District Nine
Kill Count: 1

Dagan's parents - Asher and Helena - always wondered whether Dagan could see the resemblances. Dagan's district partner, Poppy, committed suicide, much like Dagan's uncle did many years ago. Dagan's younger sister, Kasha, was mute, much like Poppy - and yet, they couldn't see why he didn't help her since she was his home in a nutshell. Dagan's older brother, Goren, personally buried his coffin in the backyard underneath a tree. Buck and Bailey combined their money and created a plaque for the Grove family - a plaque that was designed by Kasha, a happy, sunny picture, something Dagan never got to experience again.

Third Place: Honor Elliot
District One
Kill Count: 1

Nobody knew who the real Honor was. Her friends believed she was free-spirited and lively. Her father, Castiel, believed she was a fighter and a shoe-in Victor, whilst her mother, Glory, believed she was nothing more than an attention-seeking girl who needed to always do better. Combining everything together, and people could see why Honor was the way she was, needing to act to please different people. Her body was placed in the family mausoleum against her sister Vanity, and whilst in heaven, they would constantly bicker and make-up - Honor had truly missed her. But, she was glad Ajax was alive; she would always realise that the butterflies were love, and love needs to be set free.

Fourth Place: Azolla Midwell
District Four
Kill Count: 2

Much like Honor, people were confused at the sudden change in Azolla's personality. She was always the sweet, ditzy blonde that was happy until her sister died. She grew quieter, but was still the same girl. But then she volunteered and people didn't understand - when they saw her change, though, they knew. They knew she was playing it much better than the others. Her body was pushed out to sea in her coffin, where she would go down to the watery depths alongside Coral.

Fifth Place: Twill Mousseline
District Eight
Kill Count: 2

Twill's remaining sibling, Sash, was traumatised at the mention of Twill's name being reaped. She lost her twin brother and now she was losing her baby sister. Worse of all? Sash had never bothered to see Twill in around three years, the pain of losing her twin all too much to handle. She grieved heavily, never being able to tell Twill that she loves her no matter what. Twill's body was collected by her parents where she buried next to Harlas, just so the siblings could be together in death; no-one would ever see Sash constantly placing flowers on their joint grave.

Sixth Place: Milo Trivil
District Six
Kill Count: 1

Because of the Capitol's tricks with the pills, Milo's family were once more ridiculed and bullied for what happened to their son. History was repeating itself. Milo's mother, Caecilia, always knew her son was a monster, just like her brother. One day, she went berserk, calling her children "abominations" and determined to rid Panem of the family by trying to burn the house down. Milo's father, Tacitus, barely controlled her, but she was soon institutionalised. Milo's body never got a proper burial - as soon as he hit the ground, bullies defaced the headstone and dug his coffin up, leaving it abandoned. No matter how many times he was re-buried, the act was committed over and over again. He would never be free.

Seventh Place: Noelle Alcott
District Six
Kill Count: 0

Noelle's death shocked the district to their very core - and her death was just another factor that lead to the Trivil family's alienation. Her tiny coffin was brought back to the district where it was buried in the local graveyard. Her parents sent her off kindly, wishing they could have somehow saved her from everything. Her brother, Calder, grew angry, blaming everyone for what happened to her - he was the one to constantly deface Milo's grave. He would forever live with the guilt that his little sister died thinking that he hated her.

Eighth Place: Margot Roybal
District Twelve
Kill Count: 1

When Milo took a bite of Margot's flesh, District Twelve went into an uproar. Never before had they witnessed the scenes properly. Of course, they never saw Titus in action. Margot's death was somewhat of a mystery, since no-one really knew who died until her face was shown. Neither of her parents, Doug or Janary, were truly affected by their daughter's death. Janary would forever blame everything on her child and Doug was the man who couldn't find time for them. It was Lilith, Margot's baby sister, that took the time to cry for her. She was strange, Margot said, but that didn't stop her sister wishing she would return and save her.

Ninth Place: Hayl Gartham
District Five
Kill Count: 0

Hayl's death didn't come as a shock to District Five. They knew she was sweet and had morals, but she was naïve, fragile... pure. The Games were designed to break and rip apart people like her. Her body was buried in District Five's graveyard, a graveyard overrun with fallen tributes. Hayl's body was buried opposite her cousin, May, a small funeral sending her off. Her parents had watched their daughter grow inside a place designed to squelch it; it was only then they realised that they were, indeed, suffocating their daughter with their rules. Too bad it was too late to apologise.

Tenth Place: Nomen Clature
District Five
Kill Count: 1

When Nomen was revealed to be creating explosions, his parents allowed themselves to hope some more; and when he got to the final ten, they took a deep breath because, in all honesty, they thought he had no chance - they didn't know he was this clever, even though his mother, Flagella, pushed her son to be the best he could be. When he attacked his district partner, their happiness turned to confusion. What was their son doing? When he died, they were left saddened and bewildered - he wasn't the same boy. His body was cremated - as requested by Nomen, who thought being buried was beneath him, ironically - and his ashes were scattered at his school on orders of Flagella.

Eleventh Place: Cyra Matrons
District Two
Kill Count: 2

As is tradition back at the Training Centre in District Two, Cyra's body was cremated out on the field, the gathering attended by anyone who cared enough to stand watch it smother her coffin. As is the tradition, too, Ajax was forced to watch - and he'd hate to say that he didn't enjoy it, because he did, and he doesn't even like fire. Her family were notified but weren't so bothered; anyone could see that her family life was what made Cyra the way she was.

Twelfth Place: Kieran DeLuca
District Ten
Kill Count: 1

The orphanage wasn't surprised about Kieran's death, they were surprised she gave up. Kieran had such a fiery spirit and act, and yet, she crumbled far too easily to the Kieran that they all knew and sometimes feared. Her closest friends - Rosemarie, Jacelyn and Avis - were the only children who accompanied Kieran's coffin to the graveyard. Later that night, they broke out, spending the night by Kieran's grave, crying and laughing, trying to rekindle what was stripped away from them. Kieran wasn't around to protect them anymore - and because of that, no-one could protect Avis from the head injuries that left him in a coma.

Thirteenth Place: Evy Redwood
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Evy's parents - Blaine and Beverly - mourned their daughter a lot. Ever since Kye's death, their relationship with their daughter had been strained. Both struggled to look at the other twin for the fear that they would only ever see Kye. They tried their hardest, but the damage was done. They collected her coffin and burned her body, keeping the ashes in an urn alongside Kye's on the fireplace. They never forgot to say sorry for losing their way after his death - Evy would understand, though, and her and Kye could be reunited once more - and Aspen, too, who got a nice slap across the face more than once. She would never tell him that he was always more than a friend to her; even if she never acted like it.

Fourteenth Place: Aspen Berkley
District Seven
Kill Count: 0

Aspen's father, Tristan, was in bits after losing his son. She looked just like his wife, and now, the Games had wiped their images from his mind. He broke down after that, and his marriage with Aspen's step-mom, Layla, soon crumbled when she realised that his heart would always be with the two people who were no longer alive; she couldn't be second-best. On a rainy day a year later, Tristan pulled the blade across both of his wrists as he climbed into the bath. Aspen was grateful for being killed - he needed his mother too much. Oh, and Evy was there, ready to hit him once more.

Fifteenth Place: Danielle Rune
District Three
Kill Count: 0

Danielle's father, Paul, closed the butcher shop the day his daughter's coffin arrived. He couldn't work knowing that his daughter - ripped to shreds like the meat he chopped - would be there. He didn't even know if he could still be a butcher; every meat he had to cut, he could ever see what the Games - those crows - had done to his precious daughter. Danielle's funeral was quaint; her coffin didn't contain much, but no-one could bare to look. Her brother Lenny did, though, and he would forever be horrified with what she was turned into.

Sixteenth Place: Lamont Seifert
District One
Kill Count: 2

Everyone secretly knew that Lamont was a long shot for being Victor. Even his own mother and step-father, Chandelier and Gild, they didn't think he could do it - Chandelier openly begged Lamont to stop being childish and grow up out of the idea - he never listened. His body was buried alongside his cousin, Pallas, at the Seifert Mausoleum in the District One graveyard. Lamont wasn't popular; not many people turned up to bid their respects. It would only be a year later that his real father - Sterling Seifert - would drink himself to death, an act that was pushed further by Lamont's death - he never got to be the father he wished he could have been.

Seventeenth Place: Marlin Roth
District Four
Kill Count: 0

Losing her husband was one thing, but losing her son in the same thing tore Marina Roth apart. She had shown Marlin his father's Games - using it as a scare tactic, so that she wouldn't worry about him training/volunteering - but it didn't work. She felt terrible. They wanted the best for her, and it cost them their lives. She sent Marlin's coffin out to sea, a typical funeral. She could only pray that he would meet his father in the watery depths, together again. One day, she promised to join them, a family once more.

Eighteenth Place: Hacket Bruckwill
District Twelve
Kill Count: 1

Hacket's death was unexpected. His odds were high, the district was confident, and yet, it all slipped away like the knife that was dragged across his throat. His death was just a reminder that age and size were not the only factors that determined your final placing. Many girls also turned up to Hacket's funeral; many of them his conquests. Margot will never realise that she was just another notch in his bedpost, just like the others were.

Nineteenth Place: Nate Lawson
District Eight
Kill Count: 0

Nate was another tribute expected to die early, and he did. Everyone loved his upbeat attitude and positive outlook on life. They were glad his death was swift - it allowed Nate to die the same person he lived as. His body was cremated and an urn was placed in his sister Ashleigh's bedroom, a constant reminder of her strong, brave older brother who never let the Capitol change him. Ever.

Twentieth Place: Ambrosia LaMarie
District Eleven
Kill Count: 0

When Ambrosia's death was announced, her mother, Aphrodite, cried for a while, just like she did when her sister, Artemis, died. However, almost a day after, she was okay - her daughter would get to spend the rest of her lives alongside the Gods. Ambrosia got a typical funeral - typical for her mother's eccentric ways, that is - where she was burned and then her ashes were buried, a sign to show that she was one with the Earth in her most primary form.

Twenty First Place: Sawyer Chance
District Ten
Kill Count: 0

Sawyer's body was one of those ripped apart by Nomen's explosions. His coffin was so unbelievably small, it broke the family's heart. His family and many siblings - Daisy, Ash, Wyatt, Rosalie, Brook and Mack - attended to the funeral on the farm, as well as a few friends. His grave was small, too, and everyone couldn't help but realise that Sawyer's chance was literally nothing. Rosalie, the closest to him, would constantly clean the grave, never ready to have Sawyer's memory tainted.

Twenty Second Place: Chip Pascal
District Three
Kill Count: 0

Chip's death was most certainly not a shock to the district. He had a habit of annoying people with his overly-analytical mind. They didn't expect it to be so gruesome, though; he prided himself on his brain, and it was smeared across the floor. Many found it ironic. His body was never collected by his family - they were never home for the delivery. Some say that it's true, others say that they can't face the fact that their son lost. Either way, Chip's body was burned, stored away in the Capitol with the other neglected souls.

Twenty Third Place: Otto Drake
District Eleven
Kill Count: 0

Otto's father lost the plot. One child's death was enough, but two pushed him over the edge. He withdrew from being mayor of District Eleven and went into hiding, fearing for his life; why did the Capitol hate him so much? Eventually, obtaining a gun, he shot his wife whilst she was sleeping and then himself - he wouldn't allow the Capitol to take another member of his family again. Otto's body was buried alongside his sister, Olympia, and he would forever hate the fact that he was on level with a  female.

Twenty Fourth Place: Poppy Spool
District Nine
Kill Count: 0

Poppy's death didn't come as a shock to District Nine. They knew that the mute girl had little to no chance of actually winning the Games. Worse of all? Her parents knew she would go out on her terms. That was the best thing about their daughter - she had a strong spirit, strong enough to take her own life. Her body - charred and blackened - was cremated fully, kept in a brass urn that sat in the bedroom of her younger sister, Violet, who was five. Violet would constantly cry over her broken sister, praying that someone up above could fix her properly. She hated knowing her sister was broken.
